| Nitmiluk Gorge |
Still part of Nitmiluk National Park, Edith Falls has a set of waterfalls and swimming pools and a nearby camping ground. And did we mention the bats at Nitmiluk Gorge?
Last night we walked to the lookout over the gorge and found about a bazillion bats (flying foxes I guess) in the trees by the gorge. See the pics below. For the wider angle pic, click on it and zoom in and tell me what you see. If you said "about a bazillion bats", you would be correct. We thought we were lucky as there were no bats at our campsite but after the sun went down, they all (yes, ALL) flew to the campground (most of them in the trees around our tent) and flew around our tent all night making creepy "flap-flap-flap" sounds and screeching. THEN, when we got up to walk down to the gorge for the dawn cruise, we had to walk under them all flying back to the gorge to hang themselves up for the day. We had to cover our heads and run, then try to find a seat on the boat that didn't have too many bat droppings on it.

| Got sick of seeing crashed cars on the side of the road. Thought this was a bit different. |
