Rockley and Bathurst have changed a lot since we used to go there regularly, for the better. Before we got there, we found this place on the main road at Molong. Looked like an abandoned junkyard, with no one around but piles of metal junk and hidden amongst them were these weird large-scale sculptures.
Look closely, there is a very large motor cycle sculpture behind the scrap
Rockley pub
Port chop with apple and macadamia
Bathurst also looked much better. We noticed some new trendy cafes and two pubs that had been refurbished and looked pretty inviting. Also a lot of new shops and a new railway museum in the "railway precinct" at the station. We passed an old church at Perthville on the way to Rockley that we have passed many times before but is now for sale, but it comes with a graveyard, with recently deceased people in it! There was a visitor there when we looked around. Not sure how many offers they will get.
Anyway, made it back to our place at Medlow in time to get the fire going. We spent the afternoon unpacking and starting to clean the car. Days 64-67 will be spent here washing clothes and cars and chilling out. That gives us a few days back in Sydney before starting back in our usual routine on Monday week. We now have to plan our next trips that will cover the bits we missed: Victoria and Tasmania, the east coast and northern tip, and the south-west and west coast.
