Day 1: Sydney to Medlow Bath, 112km

After (expertly) packing the car, we set off to Glenbrook to walk to Elizabeth's lookout and Marge’s lookout to get some photos of Sydney.

Spending the night at our holiday house in Medlow Bath. A sauna and a barbecue, and some re-packing (adding food, removing the 50L water tank from the roof – too much water and too heavy) and we will be ready to continue our journey west in the morning.

To pack the inside, we had the fridge and water tank, and then put food and utensils in plastic stacker boxes on the folded down rear seats. I made a wooden divider to keep them all in place and left the rear cargo area free to use as a table or spare storage. All the recovery gear, axe, bush saw, first aid kit and 2nd battery are under the rear load space. Plenty of hooks and tie down points made it easier. All our clothes, boots and backpacks are in the rear footwell, behind our seats.

The roof holds recovery boards, jerry cans and LPG cylinder, as well as the water tank (we later ditched), a plastic box and a big duffle with all our camping gear (tent, tarp, sleeping mats, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows). This can fit in the rear cargo area if it gets too dusty.
